The management team

Founded in 1958 by the Thevenet family, ATHERAC has evolved with the times while staying true to its identity. In 2019, with the retirement of Patrick Thevenet — a prominent figure in La Clusaz real estate and son of the founder — the agency enters a new era. It is now led by a shareholder pact formed from within the staff, the result of a natural and solid succession.

Some of these executives have been with the company for over 25 years and possess intimate knowledge of the local market, properties, co-ownerships, and, above all, client expectations. This internal succession is a real strength: it guarantees the continuity of ATHERAC’s core values — proximity, excellence, and local roots — while bringing fresh energy.

The agency’s history

1958 - Agency founded by Fernand Thévenet

Jacques RACHEL and Fernand THEVENET, two friends and comrades-in-arms during the Battle of Aiguille du Midi, joined forces to create the first real estate agency in La Clusaz. The agency started in a simple room located above the Rocher garage, at the entrance of this small village in Haute-Savoie.

1989 - Patrick Thévenet succeeds Fernand

At age 70, Fernand THEVENET passed the reins of the agency to his son, Patrick.

1998 – Start of vacation rental services

Creation of "Locathérac," a website exclusively dedicated to vacation rentals.

2019 – Agency takeover

Patrick THEVENET retired, and the ATHERAC real estate agency was taken over by the company’s management team.

ATHERAC’s three business divisions (sales, property management, and vacation rentals) are now led by an active shareholder pact composed of eight members who jointly participate in strategic decision-making.

2021 – Integration of Snow Lodge

The group strengthened its vacation rental offering with the acquisition of the SNOW LODGE brand, a specialist in high-end chalet rentals since 2009 in La Clusaz.

2023 – Affiliation with Christie's International

The Sales division joined the Christie’s International Real Estate network. This affiliation positions our agency as a leading player in the luxury market while benefiting from global resources and a worldwide network that enhance its appeal.

2024 – New Renovation Service

Creation of a turnkey renovation service designed for buyers wishing to enhance an older property while ensuring compliance with upcoming energy efficiency standards.

Today – Presence across the Aravis region

Thanks to our expanded team of sales professionals covering the areas of Grand-Bornand, Manigod, Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, Thônes, Entremont, Les Clefs, Le Bouchet-Mont-Charvin, Serraval, La Giettaz, and Flumet, we now offer you comprehensive and personalized expertise across a wide territory.

To celebrate the Moonlight Stroll, the entire village was plunged into darkness: street lighting was turned off, shop windows were extinguished, and the streets were illuminated by candlelight.
